I always thought that's why French come so easy to me. back then I believed languages were my thing and I reckoned learning chinese or japanese, but had to come to the decision that chinese might not occur easy for me at all, b/c being good at figuring grammar isnt truly the difference-maker (which is exceedingly primary in french i'd say), but understanding and recognizing certain notes is.
